Paying it Forward

Our company's mission to support the life of our infants focuses on the solutions for infant mortality. The safety for our infants goes beyond our product, it's the reason Bitzy began. Please join us in raising awareness for organizations that help reduce these risks during and after pregnancy!

Bitzy Baby believes in not only creating a safer sleeping environment for children, but a safer place to live. We proudly support Count the Kicks in thier work and with every product we sell, contribute a percent of our proceeds to this wonderful organization!

Count the Kicks is an awareness campaign dedicated to educating expectant parents about the importance of counting their babies movements daily during the third trimester of pregnancy. The goal of Count the Kicks is to improve the chances of delivering a healthy baby and to reduce stillbirth rates, which occur in one out of every 150 pregnancies nationwide.

Counting and tracking your baby’s movements is a safe and very simple way to monitor the well-being of your baby everyday during the third trimester of low- and high-risk pregnancies. Significant changes in your baby’s movement patterns may help identify potential problems with your pregnancy before the baby's heart rate is affected. Kick Counting is recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and endorsed by leading perinatologists.  Visit Count the Kicks to learn how more and download a free Count the Kicks Chart. Count the Kicks is a project of Healthy Birth Day, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of stillbirth and infant death through education, advocacy, and support.

Healthy Birth Day was founded by five moms, each of whom lost a daughter to stillbirth or infant death.  “When we first met, no one was talking about stillbirths.  We were frustrated after learning how frequently stillbirth occurs in the United States (1 in every 150 pregnancies) and how little was being done to prevent them.”  Click to learn more about Healthy Birth Day!

Our company's mission to support the life of our infants and reduce the infant mortality is the key reason Bitzy Began. With a high risk pregnancy due to genetic kidney rarities, we were compelled to dig deeper into creating a comfortable and safe environment for our own child who could potentially be at risk of SIDS*.

Rare diseases affect 1 in 10 Americans, 30 million people in the United States, and 350 million people globally.  Over 7,000 distinct rare diseases exist and approximately 80 percent are caused by faulty genes.  The National Institutes of Health estimates that 50% of people affected by rare diseases are children, making rare diseases one of the most deadly and debilitating for children worldwide.

We were thrilled to join this year's Global Genes Loopgiveaway!

The Wear That You Care™ campaign is simple — all across the world people can participate in supporting the Global Genes movement of rare and genetic disease awareness by wearing a Genes Ribbon™.  Global Genes™ is a leading rare disease patient advocacy organization. The Foundation’s mission is to unify the international rare disease community by providing connections and resources to ease the burdens of affected patients and their families. Visit Global Genes Projects to learn about the more than 7,000 rare genes and how to support their work! Also check out their FB page! Lastly, wear jeans the last day of February to advocate for hope!

*Although the cause is unknown, it appears that SIDS may be associated with abnormalities in the portion of an infant's brain that controls breathing and arousal from sleep.
